Two of the most fundamental ways to use the TI programmable calculators in the classroom is for:

• data analysis
• and conducting simple experiments and using the CBL and CBR.

These two really go hand-in-hand. Students in both cases are able to see a practicality in math that they have never seen before.

Students are able to link several of their other classes. Usually such experimentation highlights certain aspects of science, namely chemistry and physics, but other good examples that promote excellent class discussion can be related to the social sciences, economics, or english classes with the introduction of a laboratory report.
